Authorised Exascend Partner for Industrial Storage

Memorysolution is an authorised partner of Exascend Europe B.V. and the point of contact for OEMs, embedded developers, system integrators and industrial companies in Germany that deploy storage in devices with long product lifecycles.

Exascend develops SSDs, memory cards and managed NAND solutions for applications where standard client-grade products reach their limits: extended temperature ranges, high write loads, protection against power loss and a bill of materials that stays unchanged for years.

Our approach: we don't just supply datasheets. We establish beforehand whether a component fits the application – temperature profile, write load, form factor and availability across the entire product lifecycle.

Who Is Exascend?

Exascend is a storage manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan, developing flash-based storage solutions for industrial and embedded applications since 2016. The European office is located in Eindhoven.

Hardware and firmware development are handled in-house at Exascend. This leads to the point most relevant for OEM projects: firmware, over-provisioning and power consumption can be adapted per project instead of accepting a standard configuration.

Exascend is therefore a manufacturer of industrial SSDs that combines series consistency with technical flexibility – and as an authorised Exascend distributor in Germany, we are the direct route to that for OEMs and developers across the DACH region.

Where Exascend Differs from Volume Suppliers

Large storage manufacturers optimise for volume. This delivers competitive pricing – and products that frequently do not suit industrial deployment: narrow temperature windows, changing NAND configurations, limited availability periods. Exascend addresses five points that become relevant precisely there.

Fixed BOM across the product lifecycle. Controller and NAND remain unchanged within a series – no requalification due to unannounced NAND changes. Often the decisive criterion in medical technology, rail applications and any field involving certification effort.

Adaptable firmware instead of a standard configuration. Over-provisioning, power consumption, thermal behaviour and capacity tiers can be adjusted per project – with volume manufacturers, only possible at quantities most industrial projects will never reach.

Consistently covered temperature classes. From 0 to +70 °C, through −40 to +85 °C, up to +105 °C (T-case) for automotive BGA solutions – each with a complete form factor range, not just in selected capacities.

Product categories outside the volume market. Radiation-tolerant SSDs, soldered BGA solutions up to 1 TB, M.2 2280 modules with very high capacity density, and pSLC variants with high write endurance.

Project-appropriate quantities. Industrial projects rarely run in quantities in the tens of thousands. Exascend is built for this order of magnitude while keeping availability predictable.

Technologies That Set Exascend Apart

Part of what separates industrial-grade products from standard storage lies not in the specification but in controller and firmware. As an authorised Exascend distributor in Germany, we know which of these technologies are actually relevant for your application – and which just look good on a datasheet.

Adaptive Thermal Control

Adjusts performance based on temperature instead of throttling abruptly at the thermal limit. Keeps throughput stable at the upper end of the range.

Dual Power Loss Protection

Protects against data loss during power failure at both hardware and firmware level. Relevant for devices without a controlled shutdown.

Pseudo SLC (pSLC)

Operates NAND in single-level mode. Lower capacity, but considerably higher endurance and more consistent write performance.

RAID ECC

Error correction across multiple NAND dies. Absorbs individual block failures without data loss.

SuperCruise

Maintains write speed under sustained load instead of dropping once the cache is exhausted. Relevant for data loggers and video recording.

AES-256

Hardware-based encryption for applications with data security requirements in the field.

Conformal Coating & Underfill

Protective coating against moisture, contamination and vibration. Standard on the automotive and radiation series.

The available feature set varies by series and form factor.

Business Unit Industrial

Not Sure Which Series Is Right for You?

Storage for embedded and industrial projects is a design decision, not a pure procurement question. Our Business Unit Industrial supports OEMs and developers from selection through sampling and qualification to series supply – across industries, not just for Exascend.

Whether automotive, medical technology, aerospace or IoT: we match temperature class, endurance and form factor to your application instead of sending you a datasheet.

Application Areas for Exascend Industrial SSDs

From the factory floor to orbit: wherever standard storage reaches its limits, Exascend solutions step in.

Industry 4.0 & Automation – control systems and cabinets with widely fluctuating ambient temperatures

Edge Computing & IoT – compact form factors within constrained power budgets

Transport & Rail – vibration, temperature and abrupt power-down events

Automotive – ISO 16750-3 tested series with protective coating

Medical Technology – long certification cycles and therefore stable bills of materials

Telecommunications – continuous operation in non-climate-controlled sites

Servers & Data Centre – enterprise series with high capacity density

Aerospace – radiation-tolerant series from the PR4 and AR500 families

Machine Vision, Measurement & Data Logging – sustained write load, pSLC variants

Storage Is Part of the Design, Not of Procurement

In embedded projects the storage decision is made early and often stands for years. Our Business Unit Industrial supports OEMs and developers from selection through sampling and qualification to series supply.

This includes aligning temperature class, endurance and form factor, as well as the question of how long a series remains available and what happens in the event of a NAND change.

This is what our Business Unit Industrial delivers in detail:

Product selection and technical assessment
Sampling and qualification support
Alignment of fixed BOM and lifecycle
Firmware and capacity customisation via Exascend
Framework agreements and project-based stocking
Second-source evaluation of existing designs

Exascend at Memorysolution – what this means for our customers:

Supply through an authorised Exascend partner

Technical assessment rather than pure product brokerage

Contacts in Germany, short routes to the manufacturer

Assessment of whether an industrial series justifies the premium over standard products

Alignment of SSD, DRAM and managed NAND within a single design

Project-based pricing and availability including lifecycle

Support with second sourcing and replacing discontinued components

As an Exascend distributor, Memorysolution extends its storage portfolio with a manufacturer specialised in industrial applications – with direct access for customers in Germany and the DACH region.

Exascend is a storage manufacturer founded in 2016, headquartered in Taiwan with a European office in Eindhoven. The portfolio covers NVMe and SATA SSDs, BGA SSDs, e.MMC, industrial memory cards and DRAM.

Industrial SSDs are built for extended temperature ranges, higher write loads and protection against power loss. In addition, the bill of materials remains unchanged across the product lifecycle, which avoids requalification.

Yes. For embedded and OEM projects, we provide samples and support qualification through to series release.

Exascend works with a fixed bill of materials (fixed BOM) and publishes roadmaps spanning several years. For long-running projects, we confirm availability and lifecycle before release.

Yes. Adjustments to firmware, over-provisioning, power consumption and capacity tiers are possible via Exascend. Scope and minimum quantities are confirmed per project.

Yes. As a vendor-neutral distributor, we assess whether an Exascend series can replace an existing or discontinued component – based on specification, temperature class, form factor and availability.
